How can we help you?

Geting Started with Prayer Journey

How do I add a prayer?
  1. Tap the Add Prayer button on the Home screen.
  2. You can then enter your prayer, categorize it, add tags.
  3. Tap Save to add the prayer.
How do I edit or delete a prayer?

On the Home screen, tap Current Prayers, then tap the prayer you want to change. Tap Edit, update the prayer, and tap Save.

To delete it, tap Delete Prayer at the bottom of the edit screen.

What do Prayer Type, Who, What, and Group mean?

These tags help you stay organized so you can find prayers later and build focused Prayer Lists.

  • Prayer Type: what kind of prayer it is (Request, Gratitude, Praise, Confession, etc.). You can select one Prayer Type per prayer from the picker list.
  • Who: who you’re praying for (a person or group of people).
  • What: what the prayer is about (Health, Work, Marriage, Salvation, Finances, etc.).
  • Group: a way to organize prayers you want to share with a Prayer Group or other people.

Tip: Consistent tags make your lists more useful over time.

How do I edit my tag options?

Tag editing is a subscription feature. Subscribers can add, edit, and hide tags (tags can’t be deleted).

  1. Open Add a Prayer (or Edit on an existing prayer).
  2. Find the tag section you want to manage:
        - Who — “This prayer is for”
        - What — “This prayer is about”
        - Group — “Select a Prayer Group”
  3. Tap the cCircle + button to the right of that section label.
  4. Add a new tag, edit an existing tag, or hide a tag.

Note: Prayer Type isn’t editable, and you can select one Prayer Type per prayer from the picker list.

Why can’t I find my prayer in a list?

Most of the time it’s one of these:

  1. Check which list it’s in. If Prayer Answered is toggled on, the prayer will be in the Reflect List, not Current Prayers.
  2. Make sure the prayer matches your list filters. Open the prayer and confirm the Who, What, Prayer Type, and Group tags match the list you’re using.
  3. Simplify the list filters. If your list uses multiple filters, remove one filter at a time to find what’s excluding the prayer.
  4. Update the prayer tags if needed. Edit the prayer and adjust its tags so it appears in the right list.

Tip: The more filters you add to a list, the easier it is to accidentally filter a prayer out.

How do I create prayer lists?
  1. From Home, tap Prayer Lists. Tap the + button in the top right, name your list, and choose your criteria.
  2. Criteria across type and tags all need to match for a prayer to appear—keep them simple.
  3. Tap Save to create your Prayer List.

(Tip: Most common Prayer Tag selected appear on Home once you’ve added a few prayers.)

How do I start a prayer session?

A prayer session lets you move through a set of prayers during prayer time.

  1. From Home, tap Go to Prayer to pray through your current prayers, or open a Prayer List to start a session from there.
  2. Swipe left or right to move between prayers.
  3. Tap Pray next to mark that you’ve prayed for it.
  4. You can also add a journal entry.
  5. When you’re finished, tap Done in the top right.
What is the journaling feature for?

Journaling helps you capture notes as you pray - so you can remember updates, record what God is teaching you, and look back on how prayer changes things over time. You can add a journal entry during a prayer session, or anytime you’re viewing a prayer in Current Prayers or the Reflect List.

Journaling is also a great way to be reminded of God’s faithfulness in your life.

How can I add a journal entry to a prayer?
  1. Open a prayer from Current Prayers or the Reflect List (or during a prayer session).
  2. Enter your journal text in the Add Journal field.
  3. (Optional) Select a tag that describes how you currently feel about the prayer.
  4. Tap the Pencil button to save your journal entry.
How do I delete a journal entry on a prayer?
  1. Open the prayer from Current Prayers or the Reflect List.
  2. Find the journal entry you want to remove.
  3. Tap the Trash Can icon to delete it (then confirm).
How do I mark a prayer as answered?
  1. Open the prayer from Current Prayers.
  2. Toggle Prayer Answered on.
  3. The prayer will move to the Reflect List.

Need to undo it? Open the prayer in the Reflect List and toggle Prayer Answered off. It will move back to Current Prayers.

How do I view my answered prayers?

From the Home, tap Reflect on what God has Done to see answered prayers.

This grows as you use Prayer Journey and gives you a place to look back on what God has done or is doing.

You can also use Reflection Lists to filter and revisit answered prayers by Who, What, Prayer Type, and Group (if available).

Can I create a Reflection List?

Yes. On the Reflect screen, tap the + button, name your list, and choose your criteria. As with Prayer Lists, more criteria usually means fewer matching prayers—keep them simple.
Tap Save to create your list.

What is a Group tag and how do I use it?

A Group tag lets you create a shareable list of prayers you can easily text, email, print for other people, Share via Bluetooth.

How to add a Group tag:

  1. Open Add a Prayer (or open a prayer and tap Edit).
  2. Tap the Prayer Group button on the right side of the toolbar.
  3. Choose a Group tag.
  4. Tap Save.

How to share a Group of prayers:

  1. Select a Group from the Groups list on the bottom of the Home screen
  2. You’ll see the list of prayers in that Group.
  3. Tap the Action button (top right) and choose how you’d like to share.
Can I share my prayer requests with others?

Yes—when you choose to.

Select the group of prayers you wish to share from the Groups list from the bottom of the Home page.

Use the Action menu to Share by File or Share Nearby (Bluetooth) with other Prayer Journey users nearby.

Receivers can tap the Nearby button next to Add A Prayer on Home to find prayers being shared.

Subscribers can also use Prayer Groups to share by email, text, or print.

Your prayers stay private on your device until you share them.

How do I share a Group Prayer List?

  4. If you Share Nearby the other person(s) must be with in range of Bluetooth and use the Nearby button next to the Add Prayer on the Home screen.
I subscribed - why don’t I see Group tags or tag editing?

Group tags and tag editing are subscription features. If you subscribed but don’t see them yet, try this:

  1. Close and reopen the app.
  2. Go to Preferences and tap Restore Purchases.
  3. Confirm you’re signed into the same Apple ID / Google account you used to subscribe.
  4. If it still doesn’t unlock, email [email protected] with your device type, OS version, and the app version from the bottom of Preferences.
Is my data secure and private?

Yes. Your prayers and journal entries are private, and Prayer Journey is designed so your prayer content stays on your device.

If you contact support, we may ask for details about your device and what happened, but we’ll never ask you to share personal information or prayer content.

How do I backup my data?

At present, Prayer Journey doesn’t have a built-in backup feature. We recommend backing up your device regularly to protect your data.

Prayer Journey relies on your device backup (rather than an in-app export).

  • iPhone/iPad: Enable iCloud Backup in your device settings.
  • Android: Enable Google/Device Backup in your device settings.

Tip: If you switch phones, restoring from your phones latest backup is the best way to bring your prayers with you.

Does Prayer Journey sync across multiple devices?

Prayer Journey doesn’t currently sync prayers automatically between multiple devices. Your prayers will only appear on another device if you restore that device from a backup (iCloud on iPhone/iPad, Google/Device Backup on Android).

If cross-device sync is important to you, let us know - this is a common request, and we’ll move it up our development list.

Will deleting the app delete my prayers?

Yes - because Prayer Journey stores your prayers on your device, deleting the app can remove your prayer data from that device.

Before deleting:

  1. Make sure your device backup is enabled (iCloud Backup on iPhone/iPad, Google/Device Backup on Android).
  2. If you’re switching phones, restore your new phone from your most recent backup so your prayers come with you.

If you deleted the app and your prayers are missing, restoring from a recent phone backup is usually the best way to recover them.
